Founder of Imagination Road Entertainment - Director - Producer
Kevin Castro, an award winning director and editor, was born and raised in San Leandro California. After discovering his father’s 8mm camera at the age of 7, Kevin directed his first film staring his extensive Lego collection; many more ensued. As a teenager he attended boarding school in Oregon and realized that telling stories was just too much fun to give up, so upon graduating, Kevin decided to move to Southern California to pursue a career in the entertainment business. He began working at the Home Show with Gary Collins as a production assistant while attending UCLA. After a couple of years of this glamorous work, Kevin was offered a position in the editing department. From there, he began working on a variety of shows among which Friday Night and Later with Greg Kinnear. For the last 19 years Kevin has had the privilege to be part of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno as the Senior Editor/Associate Director where he started the post-production department with only one editing bay and through the years turned it into a state of the art post-production facility.
After the Tonight Show ended, he signed with ICM to keep his career moving forward. Kevin has multiple shows in development, from scripted to reality. One of which he’s producing the docudrama staring Stuttering John from the Howard Stern show. It will start airing in 2015.
From editing to producing Kevin never lost sight of his true passion, directing.
In 2002, with the help and guidance of Martin Laudau, Kevin wrote and directed “Delirium”, later followed by the comedy “Room Service” staring Howie Mandel. This is when he met and fell in love with co-star Axelle Grelet. They are now happily married, living in Sherman Oaks with their son Liam and are currently working together, producing the feature film, When In Doubt.
